I took the family to the beach for the day and couldn't pass the opportunity to wet a line. I broke out some bashed up freshwater gear and threw out some squid and a couple of different lures. Ended up with a couple of small "sea trout" someone called them...and HuH?...a nice sized purple star fish. Whatever! Better than a skunk from the sea. It didn't even get hooked. He just didn't want to let go of that strip of squid. Saw a guy pull in a 17" Hali...but he went back. Heard a guy caught a 5' shark earlier in the morning...had to walk it down the pier and onto the beach to finish the battle. I wish I could have seen that. I'll be back to the salt on Friday to the 14 mile bank. I'll report back on Saturday for that trip.
