I'm curious why the long lines when you can get an equally (or even better) hot dog elsewhere?

ya its way overated and not worth the wait. Went there few months back and the amount of stuff they put on the dogs is insane. You have to eat it with a fork and knife which i think defeats the purpose of a hotdog.

I'll stick with a "Costco-Dog"

There’s something comforting about a product that defies the marketplace and refuses to budge its price through good times and bad.

Costco’s hot dog and soda combination has cost $1.50 for nearly a quarter of a century.

75.6 million combos

In fiscal year 2007, Costco sold 75.6 million hot dog/soda combinations.

I liked going to "Tail o' the Pup" back in the day too.........

There is a place in Orange on the way up to Irvine lake on Chapman called PCH hot dogs. I was taken there and treated to lunch one time. I was not all that impressed with the food.

One of the best hot dogs I have ever had that I can remember was from a street vender outside Staples Center. I was at a concert, Styx & Journey It had everything on it the way I remember it. It was so good.

Best hot dogs on earth are here:

Gazzolo's Sausage Co/The best of the Wurst Catering
132 E Highland Ave
San Bernardino, CA

It's a full-on German-style resturaunt, he he he. Good beer, good brats, good kraut. Been open for like 40 years or something. I used to do signs for the owner and get free food, he he.

I have to agree with FM57 on this one. Costco gets my vote, although I don't like them as much since they changed hotdog brands. PCH Hotdogs have really good chilli cheese dogs, but the dogs are kind of small and they cost too much.

Ya, pinks is no big deal, I work down the street and see all those people waiting in line for a crappy hot dog. Tail O' the Pup was the best, too bad he closed but rumor is that he is going to open up again somewhere in Westwood Village

Haha this is so funny,

My friends and I were talking about this over dinner tonight.

I agree that some of the street vendor hotdogs are amazing too.

Best dog I remember was outside the Arcadia Plunge (swimming pool) back in the late 50's. There was a guy had a trailer stand that would park outside. Since the pool was at the park he got the pool people and the park people. The dogs were great and I have yet to have another that compares.
