Hit Castaic Upper for a quick b4 work visit.

Looking for da topwater action..

They opened 15-20 minutes late which I’m sure closed my window on more fish but I did fish for a little better than 1 ˝ hrs..

Many topwater fish were to be had.

I landed 4 stripers on the KPN mini topwater shad

3 on the new ˝ ounce Castaic skiny shad

I also landed I think 3 Largemouth on the Mini topwater

And last but not least I landed 5 on the new ˝ oz skiny shad.

I lost 3 other fish.

Nothing real huge, juist some nice clean b4 work quick action…

Didn’t photograph everything….

Still waiting for the big topwater beasts and when it happens, I’ll be there.

Till the next hookup…

Good going on some serious top water action.. That one fish really ate that KPN.. Must be nice being able to get out before work.. Seems like that would make work a lot easier to do being able to reflect on a good morning of fishing..

IT WAS PRETTY SICK, cast #2,3,4 all produced topwater fish..

If they would have opened up on time I think I could have doubled my catch total !

They opened 15-20 minutes late today

That's a great short session. Can't beat that much action for a quickie. Are the 1/2 oz new? I'm eagerly anticipating a 3/4oz if it happens.

That 1/2 ounce is new, Khanh had experimented with this and it's still in the "what will it produce" phase.

I do know he has only produced a small handfull, I'm sure if there is a great demand, he would span out into different weights/sizes but again, that, I'm sure would be relavant to the need for such lures and the amount of interested parties.

I'd say there's strength in numbers and the more people who voice their interests the better regarding their production.

to sum up:
I couldnt truly speak for the 3/4 oz that would be a question that I'll let Khanh answer.

One thing for sure is that we're definately on to something..

More will follow as more fish fall victim to them.

Maybe Khan will chime in here ...

Yolo,
As Gary mentions the 1/2 oz is "brand spanking new". I just make a handfull of lures......for experiment purpose. Look like a success and there WILL BE MORE.....later .
I'm working on the 3/4 oz lure, but it won't be available in the near future.

Gary,
Great job out there bro. Thank so much for helping me testing the new lures, after this week I'll have more time to get out there testing with you .
I told you this little lure works .

Khanh.

It's always hard to leave and go to work...BUT...I know I'll return to the homefront soon enough

Nice topwaters fishes. :Envious:
Thanks, it's so much fun, I usually don't get too reved up when the fish arent toads but the energy level makes up for lack of body weight : )

I take what the lake puts out....somethings coming up down the pike....

I'm gonna get me a big slice o that pie when it happens : )

Thanks Scott, we'll be patient and wait our turn at those big guns...it'll probably take a bit...sooner than later we all hope

We'll have to just deal with what the lake has to offer till then...this is no new cycle, we've seen this in previous years but it's lated a bit longer this season

So glad to see it a success Khanh, you put allot of hard work into those things and it shows in the results !

90% of any congrats go out to you buddy : )

Hope to get on the water with you sooner than later..
till then: I'll keep them heated up for you !
ha ha ha....

gary.. were the striper's boiling or were you blind casting???

There were boiling per say but most were swirls not all of them real voracios.

Hit & miss...there 1 minute....gone the next...you need to search them ouit when theyre that active....find the baitfish....find the bait...find the fish !

BUT
I did catch probably 2/3rds of my fish on dead water..

Largemouth were still boiling when I left !

Nice work as usual steel!!! Thanks for the report.

thanks...no problem for the report : )

U been hitting the lagoon lately ?

I'll probably go beat up on some LMB there tonight !
