Hit the lake from 6-11. Or should I say I actually fished for 4 hours (7-11).
Waited at the south side but nobody ever came to open the gate. Killed 45 minutes waiting before I finally drove around to the front. Was gonna go look for a new hole, but not today!

Caught a couple of these lil guys on various plastics.
This guy is in the water.. and released himself.

Tried a couple different reaction baits. They weren't too cooperative today. Was fun dodging and slipping through weeds with the LC weed cutter for an hour or so. I think I need to put some single hooks on it instead of the stock trebles to make it a truely weedless crankbait though!
Looks just like the little gills in the water.

Here was the only drag puller who took me for a couple runs. Good little belly and he was running all over the place. Then back he went to get bigger.

After that, not much going on, or I wasn't really trying much I should say as I was talking to a dude I met on shore named Mack. He said he was out from Palm Springs and I think he was saying he fished Cahuilla (sp?) often. Said he's been on FNN so maybe he'll come on and read this. Good to fish with ya for a few man, hope you had some luck out there.
Had a couple little tiny guys bounce off the hook near shore before the photo session ;)
Took off about 11-11:15 to beat the heat. Air temp was about 95-100*. All the fish came from 10 feet or greater and they were way out there. Every time I set the hook the fish would break the surface way out there about as far as I could cast. The trick was to cast it way out with 3/8oz and move it slow slow slow! I could see them busting on shad way off shore about the same distance out that they would jump when I'd set the hook on them
Good luck out there.
