I got a phone call from a friend of mine (Bora) while I was working said that he and his wife catching a lot of stripers at West Ramp on SARDINES. He asked me if I wanted to go with him and the other guy (Ray) the next day. I said, I don’t see why not. So, I went to get some SARDINES after work. We got to the lake around 6 O’clock in the morning and we saw stripers boil everywhere but most of them guys were small. We tried all kind of top water lures but no love so we went back to bait and wait. I tossed it out about 40 to 50 yards away from the shore and left it there for about 2 to 3 minutes then I got my first hit and it was hard. Picked my rod up reeled it in slow and got me a 6.4lb striper. I managed to catch a few more in 30 minutes and after that it went dead on me all day. No more love for me however my friend (Ray) caught 6 of them and the other guy (Bora) caught 8 of them too. Bora landed an 8lbder on top water lure (Sammy 65) around 6:30 in the evening. We had a great time out there today. All were caught on sardines except the 8lbder.

Me, my family and a few friends are going to Lake Powell from July 28th to August 1st. So, I'd better save some of them for our boat trip just incase we don't catch any stripers over there.

Well done PJ (and crew).
From reading the recent posts about Castaic, looks like you got a few of the bigger units. Guess I'll have to make my way out there to get this stripe off my back.
Congrats again.

Nice job on them jailbirds...your nailing them in some good level of consistency, thats great !

Nice solid fish too....I'll bet you were sweltering in that heat and I'm sure you earned every singl;e bite and catch you got...

Huge congrats to you all : )

Small note, and by all means I am not trying to discredit or belittle your catch.

You may not want to extend your arms at full length when photographing your catches, you'll get a true depiction of the fish's size with a bend in the elbow, not right on the chest but not a full extension....just food for thought.

Again all real fine feesh...I salute you on your catches and your consistency : )
