Fishing hooks are mainly made out of bronze or steel in the higher end hooks. The metal jigs are usually aluminum or a mix of different metals. The only items that lead is mainly made out of is the weights.

Personally I've never really given it much thought but if your that concerned maybe wash your hands after touching them or maybe consider using lead free weights.

PLus lead poisoning is from PROLONGED contact with dangerous amounts to affect you.Unless you fish every day and handle lead everyday you are safe. What about the guy that works at the manufacturer? He should be the only one who should be worries

That is funny because I only fish a couple times a month and use lead weights when I go and I am dead.
