Pyramid on Saturday, Castaic on Sunday with Bob & Friends.

Combined reports - I'll try to make this dual reports quick and simple! :Big Grin:

Pyramid Lake on Saturday 7/25 with Bob (TroutOnly) & Phuong (Blackwater).
Castaic Lake on Sunday 7/26 with Bob (TroutOnly) & Ron (OCRon).

Since hitting the surf was not an option this weekend due to the dangerous conditions, I decided to hit a couple of local lakes instead to see how the Striper bite is doing. Bob was kind enough to fit me into his busy guide schedule to help me entertain a couple of friends. :Cool: Thanks again Bob for a great time out on the water, I'll see ya again next month. Phuong and Ron, thanks for joining me on the Striper kill missions, we'll do it again soon! Enjoy the fruits of our labor. :Wink:

Pyramid Lake results - Fished from 6:30am to 3:00pm. Kept three limits of Stripers (30). All in the Pyramid schoolie class (1-3 lbs).
Techniques - Most of the fish were caught trolling. One on the LC and one on cut Anchovies. Saw several small boil areas all day but nothing significant.

Castaic Lake results - Fished from 6:00am to 3:00pm. Kept eighteen (18) Stripers. All in the Castaic schoolie class (1-5 lbs).
Techniques - Most of the fish were caught trolling. One on the Kroc. Saw only one small boil all day.

On Saturday, the lake lice at Pyramid was pretty bad but Sunday at Castaic it wasn't too bad. Probably because of the jetski restrictions.
Yeah Scott, I got cooked both days... needed the color. Hard to get a tan with full waders on. :LOL:

The action was much better on Saturday at Pyramid than Sunday at Castaic Gary. Even though all we caught were schoolies, it was more of a consistent bite. At one stretch, we were just killing them one after another with each pass on the troll. Double hook-ups and everything. :Twisted: The schoolie size Stripers that we got at Castaic was a little bigger, but we caught less of them. Overall, it was a pretty decent weekend, but I'm too, is waiting for the bigger mdels to show up. :Wink: You were nuts for heading out to the surf last weekend. :Shocked: Conditions should be pretty good by this weekend and that's where I'm heading. :Wink:
