well i was at nph last night and caught around the size of your first photo troutdog and i fought it for like ten minutes and then got it to the dock and early that day my camera broke due to rising tides so yeah no pic but i do have more respect for those beatuiful and strong creatures.[considering he almost ripped my rod of the deck and almost spooled me

Unfortunately I didn't weigh either batray, took a couple quick pictures and back into the bay they went!

Caught this guy at Newport Harbor. I think it was around 15-16" wingspan and around 2 pounds. For it's small size it still bent my 8ft spinning rod with 25# line.

jr had a fun fight with this lil fella.

we kept getting snapped off on our #8-#12 line. bumped up to #40 to see
what was winning every battle. im sure this was the guy, #20 lb class bat ray.
it had multiple lines hanging from it's mouth.
