Point Loma Kelp Beds- 7/21

To beat the heat I decided to go on the Tue/Thur. 1/2 kelp bed special on the Chubasco 2.

Same ole story as the past few weeks. WFO calico bass. I caught at least 30 on 5 inch bass assassins and released all fish.

The story of the day however was the conditions. The water was clean and 75 degrees. It was so warm that Second Captain Trevor decided to jump in the water to help free a calico bass caught in the kelp. Captain Ernie wouldn't let any of us jump in due to maritime reasons but it sure looked tempting.

The WHOLE crew on the CHUBASCO 2 are awesome- I was on the 3/4 day to Coronado Islands on Sunday and had the best charter trip in 2 years.... thanks guys. Cool pics... Wow .... really nice water. I'll say..... it must have been tempting. We haven't had many full-on dead-calm days on the water yet up this way when I was on board. Boy am I miserable when it nothin' but a sweat box on deck.

Glad to see you're flexin' the rubber for all those fishys !!
