Did a quick half day run with my dad to check conditions on some local "secret" spots for the checkers. Needless to say the fish wanted to bite! There were large bait balls throughout the area and fish were boiling all over the place. My dad managed a couple bass on the iron, all the rest were caught on 5.5in fishtraps in #32 & christmas tree. TONS of followers and green clouds following their caught buddies. I got a solid 5# and a few 3s & 4s. Highlight of the day was a surprise juvi WSB that ate the christmas tree. We caught about 15 quality fish before 10am and were back at the launch ramp by 11am. It was early morning summertime local bass fishing at its finest! Get out there guys!
BTW - my cheap $7 ebay jointed LMB swimbaits were too much fun.....I would toss them in between patches of kelp and youd see the calis dart out of the kelp as I slow rolled em on the surface! Cant wait to try em on the ponds.
Early morning fog and crappy cam phone doesnt do this fish justice....I was stoked to catch some calis again!
