Going fishing in Oregon, Any Suggestions!

Hey guys and gals. I'm heading up to Oregon in a couple of days with a friend of mine to visit his parents. Any advice/tips on fishing for Steelhead or Chinook, you know the story, what colors, rig setups, baits, etc. Just a short background, going to a place called Sweet Home, will be staying at his folks place which is a stones throw away from Foster Lake and the Santiam River. So any helpful tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It's been a few years since I've done any fly fishing or any kind of stream fishing for that matter. Thanks in advance.
