Called in sick this morning and finally decided to hit up Dana Point around 10 am. Bullets calls me up and says that he's getting off early so grab his stuff and pick him up. We got to our spot around noon. I started off with a flathead minnow that comes in that yellow bag, and Bullets starts off with lug worm. About 20 minutes goes by and neither of us are getting any action. I then say, "Come on Mr. Calico...I know you're around here." Not 3 minutes later my bobber dips under HARD. Fish on! Wouldn't you know it was a calico bass...my first ever, and it was a pretty decent size too! This picture has it at a bad angle so you can't really tell just how fat it was.

I then went completely dead for the next hour or so. I moved to another spot, and Bullets decided to keep his spot. The minnows weren't getting much love so I switch over to half a N/C. It's a good thing too because there were perch galore! The sad thing though was the swells were pretty strong, and I could see a lot of movement from the worm. The perch were dive bombing it but couldn't get it. Finally there's a break in the swells and I ended up landing this walleye perch...another first ever for me.

Shortly there-after Bullets finally lands a BMP.

...and then he got a dink smelt.
Those were the only fish that were landed, but there were TONS of fish out there. Most of them looked like blacksmith perch, but I did see a what looked to be either a huge pile perch or sargo go after my worm. I also saw what might have been an opaleye or a halfmoon perch. My bobber was working some serious overtime, but sadly couldn't hook most of the strikes.
