Fished Perris lake yesterday Got there early in the morning and headed out to the south side of the island. Started fishing in about 25’ and got a few taps with no commitment. Moved over to the south side in about 12’ of water and hook one.

Good enough to keep me interested for the next one. I was getting some good hits but could not get a fish on the hook.
Then I hooked this tasty slab.

It was not was what I was there to catch. So, it went back in the lake. Can’t eat just one anyway.
I think the bite is hot for the gills now. I finished up the day until noon with a few of these of the same
size. Hot like a mo-fo out there on the lake. Did not get any fish of really good size but it produced.

I used some 5” worms in blue gill, oxblood red and green weenie. The usual colors no secrets. Water was 80 to 78 degrees. The slab are really hanging around the tops of the brush. Happy Fishing!

Nice job out there man, some nice pics too. And I think it's about to turn into the dog days of summer with temps over 100 real soon.

Take Care,
Joe
