Got stood-up on tues.

I had planed to fish with a long time friend of mine at vail, (his first time ever). So I get up early, get everything ready, and wait for him to get to my house. 5 min late, 10 min, 15 min. late so I call. Me: "hey man whats up?" him: "sorry bro, I can't go today blagh, blagh, blagh" me: "that's great, thanks for heads up, (click)". So I went anyway by myself. I have to admit, I had a chip on my shoulder all day, I Kept thinking about it, and it really pissed me off.

Anyway, another ho-hum 25 -30 fish day at Vail. Today I could not make much bait (8 shad is all) so I fished it hard for 6 hrs. using spinner baits (lost two spinnerbaits no fish) crank bait, drop-shot worm and drop-shot flukes. I got my first 10 -12 fish on the few shad I had, then moved around the lake to pick up 15 -20 more. Water temp 78. Off the lake by 12:30.

Gulp! I used to catch a ton of bass on those at Vail. I am going to have to get a fresh tub. Last I looked mine had dried up. Good job, Joe.

When I first joined Vail it was a much smaller fishing community than it is now. A little while after I started fishing there I introduced myself to a couple of people at the ramp. When we exchanged names one of them said, " You know everyone just calls you the 'Gulp Guy', don't you?"
