Very nice day out at the lake on friday not too hot, water temp 77+ in many areas. We fished from 7:30 -1:30 and went home to jump in the pool. Most of our action was on the shad (still) but I did more and more fishing with plastic today and managed to get a few on drop shot worms and grubs, (also tried a few different Zoom flukes). In fact I caught a small one on the very first cast of the day on a off white colored grub (you can just see the curly tail in the first pic). We moved around a bit more today, Megan caught 2 bluegill on drop shot worm and 8 bass (all on shad). I ended the day over 20 bass, all but 6 or 7 on shad, and one HUGE bluegill d/s worm (no pic, flopped out of my hand while pic being taken). Only one notable fish, I got a 6.2 (digi-scale) at about 9:30 (on shad, hate to say). We did have one more exciting moment, late in the day, I hooked into a very large fish, line was peeling off, turned it, got a few cranks on it and "pop" broke me off. Much larger than my 6.2, maybe a big cat, who knows.

Also got a chance to talk to and meet Brian and Beth (also here on FNN, "fishinglife") You guys are too cool for words, and thanks for the flukes. I was determined to catch one with them so I could show you in this report but couldn't get the job done. Anyway, happy fishing and I hope we see you again soon!

enjoy the pics:

check out the parasites (maybe leach) on top and left bottom, they squirted blood when I pulled them off with pliers. http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q468/megsfish/IMG_0421.jpg

It was nice meeting you and Megan yesterday. You guys caught some really nice fish there. Megan is quite the fishergirl! Hope to see you out there again sometime.

big cats have a swathing tail rythem when hooked and feel like a slow steady bounce even when the rod is fuly loaded.
