Here is Ray’s rendition of how my weekend went:
went camping somewhere up north over the july 4th weekend.
got sooooooooooooooooooooooo drunk i think i caught some fish

(drunk- yes, caught fish- yes, over 4th of July weekend- yes)
And here is mine:
Sorry for the late report but I didn't get to upload the pictures until last night. We gathered a group of friends to join my family and I for our 4th of July camping trip! I made reservations 7 months ago and have been counting down the days since. We went to Mcgrath State Beach in Oxnard and it was a perfect trip! We left town Friday morning and checked in around noon to set up our fort for the next 3 days. I’ve been here before and just love the close access to the beach. Fishing was spectacular and all the FAT perches you want. The mission was to get the first times on their first surf perch and it was mission accomplished!!! My brother caught his first surf perch and is now an addict for life. I’ve told him stories about me surf fishing but he didn't believe it until he got into the action himself. Thanks to my handy dandy iphone, I was able to look at the tides to put us all on the fish. We fished for 2 straight hours and it was a wide open bite and all of a sudden, the bite completely shut down. But it was fun to get my friends and family on some fish that they never knew existed!!
TOTAL COUNT: 50+ (too many to count, all were released but 5 were kept for dinner)
PS: My brother went fishing at night time and caught a shovel nose and took a picture of it through night vision goggles.. Pretty cool shot. I’ll try and have him email me the picture!
