Today, dad and I decided to fish the Tradition for some good bass action that has been going on across the pond at the island. The crew today consisted of Captain Steven Konrady, Shawn in the galley, and Morgon on deck. Morgon took up jackpot, and Shawn cooked some awesome breakfasts, and some of us caught up on our sleep as we made our way across the way to the island. Soon, we were locked and loaded for fishing.
Steven metered some seabass first thing, but none would come up to bite. However, we got some bass on the fresh dead and a small slider, a hot ticket for most of the spots of the day. Stevo kept on moving, looking for the right conditions for a decent bite. We had a decent bass pick at a couple spots, some of them biting the plastic. Some bass were also willing to bite the sardines, including this nice one caught by my dad.

In the afternoon, we set up on a spot where the yellows put on a show for us, but none wanted to bite. We did get some nicer sized bass and a few barracuda, but soon, the sea lions were all over us, and we moved on to our last spot of the day. This spot was the best for the calicos. Those who could get a sardine as close to the edge of the kelp as they could would get a nicer sized bass. We threw on most of our legal bass at this spot, and Stevo called it a day. Everyone ended up with fish for dinner, and all had a great and comfortable time, with a professional and top notch crew. Great times, great fishing!
