First off, sorry for the late report. Pics were on my friends camera and I just got them yesterday.

Anyhow, my buddy and I fished Bishop Creek Canyon the week before 4th of July, to try and beat the crowds. Well, it was pretty busy up there but it didn't effect our fishing much. We didn't catch a ridiculous amount, but we did 46 fish between the two of us in 2 days. The big ones kept us excited though. A total of 4 Alpers on the trip ranging from 2 to 4+ pounds.:Cool::Cool: And a big chunk of our fish were wild browns, nothing huge but I did get a nice 14" on the Middle Fork the first morning. My first fish of the trip actually. The other browns were all about 7"-11" and hard, flying out of water, fighters! Weather was great, a little hot but nothing unbearable. Days in the mid-80's. Nights in the mid-40's. And best of all, very little wind. Almost NO wind actually. All fish were caught from the creeks. Drunked, I mean kicked back at all the lakes for a bit but all I could find was slow fishing means getting D R U N K a lot quicker:LOL::LOL: The creeks is where it was happening, for us atleast.

On the way back we fished Baker Creek, just outside of Big Pine, and caught a bunch there, all released. Biggest one about 13". We also drove up the hill to Big Pine Creek. Water was pretty high and fast, mostly whitewater and we were tired so decided to just kick back at the pond up there for an hour. We did 6 fish between the two of us there, all released.

Kept 8 fish total between the two of us. The 4 big ones, and 4 stockers. I'm not too crazy about eating trout. Alpers are good though.

Here are some pics, ENJOY!

Looks like you all had a pretty productive day. What all were you catching them on? Did those waders help keep you cool?

YES, the breathable waders helped a huge deal in keeping us cool. We were getting them on different stuff. Panther Martins, mini jigs, wacky wormin'. Different parts of the creek call for different methods. And when you work a 2-3 mile stretch of stream over a span of about 3 hours, you HAVE to try different things eventually to keep getting 'em. IDK why but its like that.

Thanks for posting, nice pics and alpers. We are heading out in the morning, how was the campground availability? Hoping to get a site at Intake. I know where the north and south fork are, where do you access the middle fork?

shweeet!! Can't wait to get up there myself. I found Baker Creek town on Google earth but I couldn't zero in on the creek. How far is it from the town of Baker Creek?

Nice trip. Great job on the Alpers. Thats a nice looking wild Brownie. I've driven the canyon to explore but never fished the Bishop Creek drainage. It's on my list.

Those are some nice fish. Awesome report and pics. Fishing the streams seems to be where the big ones are at. I need to get some breathable waders to hit up the streams. Can't wait for this weekend.
