Went camping up north near Chico, to Black Butte Lake with Larissa and the rest of my NorCal family. First day didn't get to fish. Got up early the next day and started drop shottin a Margarita Mutilator. Hooked up into a nice bass that put up a good fight. Never fought a bass for that long. Took off on several runs, under docks but was finally able to land it. The belly was huge on it. Ended up getting some smaller fish and went back to camp for breakfast.

Tried later in the afternoon on my kayak. Got towed out to some trees. Seen tons of bass jumpin all over the place. I threw everything at them, couldnt get any bites. Gave up cuz I didnt have any fluids and it was dam Hot!

Tried the following day for a few nibbles, no hookups. Got a few bluegills thats it. Got called away to help pack up the camping gear. The rest of the day we spent on the water.

Had a great time hanging with the GF and family. Didnt get to fish as much as I wanted, it was so hot. This is a great campsite and the lake is few hundred feet away. I was hoping to catch a smallie or a spotted bass but it didnt pan out. Will try again next year.

Real nice place you went to Cappo. Looks like meadows that go down to the river's edge, something we don't have to much of around here. Beautiful photos!

Good job Cappo!!!

I fish there once or twice a year as my inlaws live up in Corning. Drop Shotting seems to be the best way to go there. I have caught more on Robo worms in oxblood. April is just crazy for crappie there, they are just thick in the lake. Any way, try back behind the spillway for some big cats at night..
Good Fishin......
