Floating a Worm - Which Hook is best

I have floating worms but some of them without the collar seem to sink quickly.

They have to have a certain type of collar to cut in half.

Which brand and type of hook works best?

I have some owners hooks that seem too short that I have been using.
I use to use some gamakatsu but the hook seems hook for the worm.

I got the siringes but mostly need help with what hook is the best the thread.

Which type of crawler works good?

Is it worth getting the smaller n/c which do not have a collar or much of it.

It seems like the best floaters are the big crawlers with the big collar then cut them after
threading.
