I am not a person to beg but I feel the need to. I lost my job in April and have been unemployed since.. My wife and I are going thru some rough time together because of it(i do get unemployment) and its really starting to tear us apart very fast. If anyone knows about anything it will help. I dont have a college degree. I have 8 years in the Marine Corps as a Recon Marine(special forces) I know about being a police officer but everywhere is in a hiring freeze. Please let me know, and thanks

Have you thought about working for a PMC or doing other high level private security work? I have zero experience with this field, but seeing as you did 8yrs in the special forces it seems like a good choice.

If you have already thought of this and rejected it sorry to bring it up.

A PMC is a private military contractor. Basically, you are guarding compounds/people in dangerous places. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_military_company

From what I have read that's not on wikipedia (again, not first hand experience), the big companies in no real order are Control Risks Group, Aegis Defence Services, G4S Risk Management, and Triple Canopy. Blackwater used to be one, but they reorganized and have a new name now. They are called Xe now and I haven't heard anything about the new company. http://xecompany.com/

Still, it's worth looking into them since they are still pretty big and hold a lot of State Department contracts.

Here are the other websites:

Aegis Defence Services: http://www.aegisworld.com/
Control Risks Group: http://www.crg.com/
and: http://www.controlrisks-training.com/
G4S: http://www.g4s.com/uk/uk-what_we_do/uk-risk_management.htm
Triple Canopy: http://www.triplecanopy.com/triplecanopy/en/home/

Hope this helps!
