Made some plans to hit up NPH with my buddy Chase (Yes from BP). We got down there at 1530 and I wanted to check out some new ground so we started off down at the wedge. We fished the rocks on both sides for a couple bites here and there.
Started working our way towards my normal area and checked out a few street ends above M St. Got this nice grade spottie.

The we headed north towards my normal stompin' ground and Chase suggested we hit up Balboa Island. He had hooked a larger model Hali over there in the past but broke it off due to no landing device. So we parked near Island St. and fished our way down to the ferry.

We headed towards Chase's spot and stopped and fished here and there for notta.
We got to his spot, and he made his first cast and before his Texas Rigged Jerk SHad got to the bottom he was bit, good bendo!

Wow thats a nice one, it made a few runs and worked him on the 10lb but Chase did a great job keeping it out of the nearby rocks. We were finally able to get her into my handy net.

She went 27 in. on the tape. This is Chase's first legal and now his PB. Congrats Chase! After the pictures he released her to fight another day.
We fished our way back towards the ferry and chase got this super spottie.

We took the fery and fished our way back to the truck but got no more fish.
Not a WFO day, but Chase's Hali made the trip well worth it!
All fish CPR'ed !
