Lost a Huge Carp @ Lake Perris Today

My brother and I arrived at the lake a little late. It turned out to be a very slow day. We managed to land a couple of gills here and there. Most of them were small. My brother and I caught two under size LMB around the Island early in the morning. Before we called it a day, my brother hooked up a hug carp but lost it. :Angry: He played with it for about 30 minutes. It came close to the boat many times but I couldn’t net it. Because whenever I tried to net it, it dove down real fast. It estimated about 20lb something. What a disappointment! :Embarrassed: We called it a day around 2:30 PM because we couldn’t handle the heat. Kept a few gills for panfry. We were using 2lb test line with crickets.

Those big carp are hard to land.
I've lost a few of them myself by now. Once on crickets, once on a robo (That one might have been a cat or a bass too) and once on a jerkbait (brought up a scale!).
Matt hooks them on rapala DT-10 all the time. lol
Keep at it, you'll get one. They're prolific in there and bite bass and bluegill gear often!
