This trip was to be different than our typical trip to the June Loop we did not have the kids with on a camping trip in twenty years. We packed up and got on our early tuesday moring and headed out the 395. The weather looked bad
Out side of Mammoth

Yes it was a funnel cloud it was cool to see "not in kansas anymore"

the trip was great tried to see as much water as possible .I could not get a bite on lures to save my life. Bouyants ,crappie jigs ,small rapalas, panther martins ,rooster tails you name it just couldn't make it happen this trip resorted to night crawlers and power bait will try to get up their once more before the end of october many more lakes to see and fish.

Yes they are a beatiful fish, a first for me in all the many years going to the east Sierras. I did some reading on the brooks and they are apparently so prolific in the higher lakes that they have stunted their growth and have special limits in place 5 fish of ten inches or more and 10 more 8 inches and smaller a total of 15 per angler. Supposedly a local favorite dusted in flour or cornmeal and fried in a quarter inch of bacon drippings Who knew !They were just to vibrant and colorful to keep.

Glad everyone enjoyed the post and Pics
