Have the Abu Garcia C301. 7 oz, LOOONG stroke spool. NEW IN BOX. $30. Excellent reel for the $$. Very long casting and very even line lay. Given how long the stroke is for casting distance, I was surprised to see that it had more even line lay than my high end Japanese Daiwa reels.
Problem is location - I doubt you are in the San Bernardino mountains.
