Hit up the local bassin' hole this morning to test out a couple new rods.
6:15 rolls around and I've seen mornings like this before.
Had a hunch it was going to be a good one.

6:45 and I'm on the water, line wet.
6:50 and it was fish on. I saw him chasing bait and put a tiny fluke on to match. It really was gonna be one of those days!

Plugged some shoreline for nada. They already moved one step deeper.
Followed them out deeper and hooked up. Really got to feel the rod this time and it was perfect! Combo complete for sure. Next few pics are same fish.

Retied from the three minute battle landing that fish, casted back out and hooked up before the bait even hit the floor..

OK so the new Cumara felt perfect. Loads up excellent with the fish and has the tip I was looking for. Not too heavy and not too light. Right in the middle! Now I wanted to try the gold carrot. I felt it on a bay bass but kinda horsed him in to avoid cover so didn't get a fight. Tossed out the ol LC and four casts later hooked up! This fish hit it viciously and fought like his cousins in the bay! Wooohaaaa I was bustin' up laughin it was so much fun!

And back he went with the rest and a sore lip. Thanks for the ride baby!

Then I couldn't get any more jerk fish. Couldn't stir them up on the T-rig either with all the guck on the bottom. Nothing hit the chotto either. Back I went to the TJ rig. D/S 4/5 curly holo shad. Scratched one dink and kept the bite going! I was on to them!
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff280/tacklejunkie/bass%20carrot%20cumara%206-22-09/cumarafuegobassperris026.jpg
Saw a little boil out deep that vanished as quickly as it came. Figured they went even deeper with the rising sun. Put on a large DS weight and casted the TJ rig way out there to imitate injured shad sauce. This time, I did the dance 5 minutes per spot before moving it. Right at shore I hear the fish inhale the bait through the cumara and set on it. This was the good one!
Drag skittering all over the place. Lasted 3 minutes or so. This fish jumped all over and fought like crazy. Had a smile on my face from ear to ear from then until I got here.

Here's the baits I used. Both rods felt great! I guess I do like Carrot Sticks and Cumaras! Just had to get the right ones for my needs. Thanks for the help guys! Please practice catch and release of your largemouth bass and you will be rewarded by the fish gods!

Didn't miss a single bite or lose a single fish! Walked away from the water at 9:45 with the fish still biting.
Thanks for reading.
