Good evening all ... let's start with a BIG thank you to Flyngby for the info on launching @ Newport Dunes and the "dL" info on some spots to hit on the way out of the back bay ... We didn't actually fish on Sunday ... this was Saturday morning....

Got a chance to spend the day on tha' bay with my Dad and my little brother ... Dad's been struggling with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and Seizures so it was NICE to get out and about with pops...

And it was NICE to munch on some KILLER fishing cupcakes my wife made up for us...

Due to the extreme low pressure, overcast weather, and rain off-and-on ALL day Dad, brother and I did NOT slay like I wooda' liked to....

Launched @ the Dunes @ 7 .... started @ PCH bridge pylons....

GREAT day fishin from the get go starting in the back bay all the way out to the bait barge ... the Bass Tracker handled the day like a pro and I learned that a scoop from the barge doesn't do all that well in the live well (even with the recirculatior on...) I shoulda' added a few capfulls of Hydrogen Peroxide like I was told ... oh well...

---3.5" and 5" swimmies from "Young's Tackle" in La Palma, CA. (They have bins and bins of 30 different colors for 50-cents each 3.5" and 70-cents each for 5"

---Berkley 3" Shrimp (New Penny)

---Some crappy half-dead live chovies from the bait barge (prob. my fault)

Looks like an alrght day to me! Regarding the live bait. Did you buy a "Full Scoop" or "Half Scoop"? IMO a full scoopt would be a little much in the live well.
