I live in the Woodland Hills area and am looking where to buy 'fresh' sardines---I used to get them at Galleons but that is hit and miss----any ideas?

Any sport fishing docks that sale bait.. You can buy fresh alive or sometimes fresh dead.. mARINA del rey has it for sure..

I think Marina Del Rey bait barge would be the closet place.

One little problem, you need a boat to get to the bait dock.
You best bet is Chinese markets.

Thats incorrect. Both bait docks in Marina Del Rey you can get to by car. One is off Fiji Way and the other is off Bora Bora Way.

In San Fernando area, your best bet is (1) go to 99 Ranch Market off Supulveda Blvd & Victory, (2) Phillipino Market "Island Pacific" off Van Nuys Blvd & Roscoe Blvd (this is my go to place to get sardine), (3) Sea Food City off Woodley & Nordoff, (4) Sea Food City off Woodman & Roscoe....Thses places always have them. Good luck.
