Well I got up this morning and decided to wait and do the lawn work till evening. So, since I had nothing esle to do, I decided to hit up Bolsa Chica (been a long time since I had been there) and NPH.

I arrived at Bolsa Chica around 1030 and fished the channel where PCH crosses. It was just about low tide, and there was not much happening. Then again, I have no idea how to fish that area. I gave it till 1130, a few taps and that was good enough for me.

So off to NPH, was not long and I arrived my one of my new shore spots. Then it was not long that I got this nice fatty Spottie!

She put up a battle!

Another of the same fish. 16 1/2 inches!

Next cast I got this one, a little smaller, but still a nice fish.

Another shot of the same fish.

I made a move to my normal area and ran into a newer FNN Member, but I can not remember his name (Sorry Bro, it was nice to meet you and fish with you). So after we chatted, I took him into a few of the spots that I like, he never fished this area. I was trying to put him on a fish, then i hooked up and got this nice spottie.

Thanks for taking the pic Bro!

He and I made some moves but it just was not producing. About 4ish I told him I had to head out (So I would have time to do lawn work). I got in my truck and started to leave, and decided instead of sitting in traffic, might as well stay till 6. Since I was already driving, I ended up down at the beach near 10th street. I walked down the spot I wanted to fish and was greeted by this little fellow.

He was just chillin, I had to step over him to get to my spot and he just sat there. He was not injured since he would hop around me and get in the water and come back out. He was excited when I got this spottie!

Sorry little guy, this is CPR!

Same fish!

My little friend was like a dog and hopped around me while I was fishing.

After that spot, I went up and checked out an area that we had fished on Steve's boat last trip that had some shore access, good area, but just bad timing. Ended up getting one little dink spottie there.

By then it was 1800 so I hit the road.

Final count:
7 Spotties, no pics of the dinks
2 New friends.

Eddie!

Eddie, thank you so much for all your help and showing me around that area I was unfamiliar with. I did not catch anything after you left so I left at 4:30. Because of your tips and info, I will surely not be discouraged from coming back to the area. It was a pleasure fishing with you and I hope we can do it sometime again. Thanks again for the lure scent!

No problem David. Like I said, it was the time of day. I told you the best times to be there, so give it a try sometime!

Man those are some nice ones from shore!
I always loose 'em when I'm on foot in the harbor to the pilings or just miss 'em all together.

Bolsa is weird to fish! You gotta go there with a commitment to not leave without one! The tides and water direction and clarity play a big part of it I think.
