These are from yesterday at Vail. I was fishing with Marc Marcantonio, a retired army officer, and former touring pro on the national bass tour. Marc fished with all the big boys from the national circuit. Marc is also a writer for several well known fishing publications.

The bite yesterday started off with dropshot fish, then blade fish, and also jig fish. Whatever we threw at them, they ate it. Where were these fish during the tournaments.

The summer jig bite is starting to go off big time. If this summer is anything like last year, it is going to be a blast.

Nice report. I guess the statement you made a couple weeks ago where you felt you were responsible for the increased traffic at the lake due to all your posts was short lived huh? I purposely have not been posting anything.

Was that Richard in that one picture by the rip rap?

I have been hiding underground for awhile now, but decided to come out for a change of pace. I guess maybe I should go back into hiding again. :Secret:

There were a lot of big fish caught on Tuesday by the guys chucking bait, but the guy I was fishing with wanted to do a magazine article, and he did not want to use bait. It was a good day for him fishing wise, and for photos for the article.

This was how most of my day went. No I am not hung on a rock either.

Yes that was Richard. He said his fish weighed 9 pounds 2 ounces. Nice fish too. He was all over them on Tuesday. So was Chris. Those 2 guys are some serious sticks. Everyone was on big fish on Tuesday. And from what I heard this afternoon, it was even better today.

That fish that Richard is holding looks like it has a gaff hole in it's side. :EyePop:

Great job Art,
and nice to read another vail report. I'll be out there on monday so the 411 helps out a rookie like myself. (I think that's what this forum is all about, right?) looks like it may be time to get the jig stick out.

Btw: (shameless plug coming) The last time I went fishing with Art Hill was the best day of fresh water fishing in my life (by far!) Call him, hire him, and hang on!

take care,
Joe

As always a Great report and incredible job out there Art! Always brings back memories of when my father taught me bass fishing on that very lake. I was about as old as my son is now. Great Job!
