and you realize you can't make it, anyway. You have to wash the car take the kids to the park. Don't marry her........have me! (Song is "Don't Marry Her" by the Beautiful South)

Ok, as per Dana's instructions, here is the official San Francisco report complete with pictures :D No fishing involved!

I checked in online on the Friday afternoon, and was offered an upgrade to First Class for $50.....HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!! No brainer there, then! Sure, it's only an hour and 15 minutes flight, but what the hell, a girl deserves a little pampering, right?
So, landed in SF around 9.30, and was slightly wobbly walking off the plane. That had nothing (much) to do with the fact I drank half a bottle of wine or more as the flight attendant knew I was terrified of flying so kept topping me up!
Got to the hotel around 10.30pm, and promptly faceplanted on the bed and snored away quite happily until 7am (I had also discovered the mini bar when I got there).
So, Saturday morning rolls around, I'm up and at 'em at 7, so showered and decided to venture out around 8am. Made my way down Powell Street to the cable car terminal, got my cable car tickets and hopped on the next available car.

I hopped off the cable car at the end of the line, and after going in search of coffee, I found the Buena Vista Cafe which is the place that invented the Irish coffee (apparently). So yes, at 9am I was drinking Irish coffee.

I then wandered around for a while, and went on some boats and got random tourists to take my picture.

After that, I wandered around Fisherman's Wharf, and after finding out that the major ferry firms wanted $300 to take me out to scatter the last of mums ashes, I found a guy by the name of Darryl who would take me just beyond the breakwater for mums finals journey. Lovely chap, even gave me a beer! Yay Darryl!

So, I said my final goodbye to mum.

I then had a caricature done, which actually turned out quite lovely - people kept staring so I made someone take a picture

I then met a lovely English couple in another bar (what, me in a bar?) and we decided to meet up after dinner for a night on the lash

We ended up in a piano bar, and I had the guy play "Piano Man" in honor of mum:

Got back to the hotel and as I was staggering and bouncing off walls to my room, the security guard asked if I was ok. My response? "Drunk as ****, mate!" and went back to my room.

Woke up wayyyyyyyyyyy late on Sunday morning with the steaming hangover, checked in for my flight 45 minutes before it was due to take off, so they couldn't give me a seat assignment but promised me one at the gate. The flight was delayed by 2 hours, so I was able to cure the hangover. Went to get my seat assignment..........all they had left was First Class! Yay! And it was the same cabin crew.......so I wobbled off the plane in Orange County.......

All in all, it was a lovely trip and I'm glad I took mum with me and said my final goodbyes

Looks like a fun weekend despite your main mission. What was the name of the hotel you stayed in?
