Ole frog was up bright and early.
I wanted to see if the Crappie were still on the chew.
To-day I decided to use swim baits ,the one that caught the most Crappie was a Storm Wildeye Swim Shad.
The Bluegills and Red-ear,all on Pan Fish Assassin tail on a leadhead,1/4 oz.
The report
7 Crappie
10 Bluegills ,Red-ear
3 LMB released but all were close but not legal.

The images
Don't get histerical over this but this is ole frogs Crappie mobil at sunrise on Lake Cibola.
Hey! it is a good boat for lakes and back waters.
I always say to the high powered guys when they say wtf is that.
I'll race you for pink slips if you let me name the course.
This thing will float in 4" of water.
One can fish a lot of water that others can't ,I am to darn old for a yak.

The second one
one of the Crappie ,no to bad for these waters.

The third is
Look this guy inhaled the whole bait and this thing is 2 inches long.
Not the best focus but you get the picture.

Fourth
One of the catch

The fifth the Crappie hole

Ole frog is going to fish Pretty Water on Wed will post a report.

Had fresh Crappie for my lunch nothing better than the fish you caught that day.

Ole Frog, Great Sunrise pic. Your boat is just fine in my book. It gets you to the fish and you get them. All good. Thanks again for the post & pics. I am sure those Crappie were tasty for lunch:Big Grin::Wink:

love those dazzling sunrises over the Trigo's. Hope the bugs were not too bad. Thanks for sharing. Do you know if Rick F or Corbett carries Az fishing licenses? Might have to plop my float tube in there come dove opener.

I do not know who he is talking about ?

I can't give you any specific area ,I tell ya how ole frog fishes for Crappie here .
Use light gear,I try to read the water ,look for dimples of bait fish.
You will find most of these occur close to the tullies.
I cast in these areas as Crappie move in schools and follow the bait fish.
If you can't find bait schools ,troll a mini lure ,mini swim bait,or Crappie jig till you locate fish.
Then you can scratch a few , when they move ,start the process over.
I do not think a fish finder will do you any good as the weeds start 3 foot down .
Most fish are darn near surface fish,
They have already spawned so not all bunched up.
I have not fished the wood ,but it might be good ?.
Been cool in the upper 90s high days. 70s at night.
Skeeters are not to bad but take deet.
Good luck

I don't know? are you talking about the guy who has the store in Cibola.
You do not need an Arizona Lic for Cibola a California with a river stame is good.
If you have an Arizona lic you need a stamp also.
I do not know when Dove season opens but this lake closes on Labor Day.

Ole Frog your reports and post's never cease to entertain me and fill me with envy. I haven't been back down to the river since April and I'm itchin to get down there. You truly seem to be a knowledgeable fisherman.
