Looking for a good charter guide

Hey everyone, I'm from south Florida but am working in Bakersfield for the summer. I have a few days off coming up and wanted to get some fishing done. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good captain for offshore fishing that's not too far away from bakersfield. I'm not too familiar with these waters..what are you guys catching out there this time of year?

Welcome aboard. Closest landing to bako would probably be Santa Barbara or Oxnard. Are you looking to jump on a public charter or are you going to charter a small six pack? If the latter I would recommend Capt. Dave Bacon on the Wavewaker. This time of year they are targeting White seabass and halibut then filling up the sacks with rockfish.
