Took my father out for Fathers day on June 20th. We went early and fished the slack tide, and rising tide. We started about 630 and slammed about ten sandbass and spotties right away. We only use plastics. Mostly big hammers in 3 and 4 inch. We left at 11am and we wound up catching 31 sandies and spotties. Our biggest 5 weighed 13.4lbs and our biggest was a 3.6 pound and 3.3 pound spot! This is our largest 5 for the season, think the big ones are moving in finally. So get out there now! By, the way we fish from a skiff and on any type of drop off! Can't wait to see how everyone else is doing out there!

What color scheme on the big hammers are you using?

 Little reluctant to say, but the best colors change at high and low tides. Low tide i like BH fongfish, and hightide i like BH prizm smelt! Thats cause the water clarity changes when the tide comes in! Hope this helps you hook up early and often! And i also try to use the lightest weight lead head i can get away with, the stronger the current the heavier i go, but never anything heavier than 3/8 and that is when the water is really moving!
