Baitcasting 101 =)

Hey everyone,

Just got an itch to try baitcasting (who knows, next it will be fly fishing)....anyone have a good suggestion as a starting setup??? (on a budget) I know it will take some practice to not have the infamous bird's nest so any tips, help, etc. is welcome =)

buy something used and cheap... turn the brakes all the way up.. and start practicing.. lower the brakes as you get better.

a good thing you can practice is get a chair, a bucket and a beer go sit in the yard and practice pitching about 10-12 ft lightly to learn how to feather the spool... move on from there... goodluck
