Wanted to take another shot at the Blythe area,so I tried hittin up my Bass Mentor ,El Weirdo...Turns out he was already in Oklahoma tearing up the topwater bass(See his out of state report).Grabbed my buddy Terry & headed out.Got there about 5:45,just in time to try some topwater.Pulled my popper away from two blowups & lost the next one after a short but scrappy fight.Moved on to dropshotting. We picked up 4 quick ones.Nothing big,but fun sizedalla bout the same.Kept a steady pick ended up with 9 LMB & 1 Smallie.Saw a bunch of hand sized bluegill & redears so we used peices of nightcrawlers & got quite a few of those as well as a couple of colorful tilapia.Left about noon since it was over 100.All fish released.Peace

I'll be there Friday about mid day to catch some of those 'Gills for flathead bait. Then fish through the night trying to catch one of those monsters. But I'll be fishing mostly in the canals for flats.
I'll hit those back waters and horseshoes for bait though. If I catch any of them bass I'll turn 'em back.

Is it legal to use live fish as bait in the canals??? I thought it was only allowed in the actual river:???:

I think it's legal in any of the waters off the river including the canals all the way to Coachella if I'm not mistaken.

Live bait is legal any were in the colorado river district, the 2008 dfg rule book had the districts out lined near the back of the book.
