If its an Island Hopper, their website says none of their engines can be sold to CA residents...the 4 stroke engines aren't CARB approved.
Now with that said, Yes you can use it in CA. You just can't buy a new one.

well,I bet it would pass the "smog check" and be approved but,I wouldn't buy it,there is so many better companies including: Nissan/Tohatsu,Mercury,Suzuki,Honda,or Yamaha....I wouldn't pull the trigger on that one....'nough said.
