I am planning a trip to Catalina and was searching the net for information. So far have only found the "generic" pages ie:chamber of commerce, visit catalina etc..... While these pages are pretty informative anyone know of site's or maybe post here DETAILED info. on best places to camp/moor good fishing spot's for first time visitor/long time fisherman. ANY info will be really appreciated and if you provide some good quality info that proves to be very useful (send me a private message if you don't want to share with the world) I will be more than willing to share my LOCAL knowledge of all the santa barbara channel island's (i have both privately and commercially fished most of the chain, and can share fish spot's,sweet anchorage's, possibly some secret spot's depends on the info i get from you hahahaha)

We used to go alot, and almost always stayed at the La Paloma hotel. The older suites have kitchenettes, and there is a good sized BBQ area. It's only about a 2 minute walk to the pier from there. It's old, but quaint and affordable.

Don't forget to fish off of the mound. It's a WWII dock built for destroyers, that is not used anymore. It's right behind the baggage check in area by the dock used by the Catalina Flier.

Also, set aside some time to go to the beach north of the Casino. I can't remember the name, but they come and serve you food and drinks right at your towel, or you can sit at the bar. Get close, because they play great music the whole time. Once we rented kayaks and went for a trip north to deserted small beaches. Very cool.

Enjoy! Catalina is one of my favorite places in the world!!!!

There are plenty of places to moor your boat and camp around the island.

If you want more detailed info just PM me and let me know what you want to fish for or were you want to camp and I'll set you up.
