Seen alot of people using retractable rods, looks like up to 10', out here in Koahsiung, Taiwan. Some can be outfitted with spinning reels or just a line tied to the end. Wondering if it is worth it to buy one even as a novelty. From the looks of it the tip is pretty sensative and the majority is pretty strong. From the tip it looks like up to at least 12" is flexable. The only collapsable rod combo i ever seen in the states is the pocket fisherman.

here's a pic i found. http://www.pokeefishing.com/2008CATALOG/pole-bolognese/kingsword.jpg

your thoughts, good and bad, would be appreciated

My Dad bought a 6ft that has really small eyes for the line, vey sensitive and has a neon orange tip that is about 8 inches, very sensitive and very strong. They are used for panfish. My dad really likes his and he plans to get another. he had caught trout and bass on it, so it is strong, also looks really cool in a sleek all black finish. He bought it at Richard's Tackle in Rosemead, Ca. he also sells the collapsable ones too.
