3/4 day on the San Diego

Went on the San Diego out of Seaforth today to the Coronado Islands. You could not have asked for a better day weather wise. The seas were flat calm and the skies opened up to blueness at 10 AM.

We headed straight for the Rockpile and got into a school of small bonito that stayed with the boat for about 2 hours. After getting loaded up with bonito, we headed for the islands looking for YT but found no love.

The last stop of the day was a high point that allowed everyone on board to get loads of sculpin. I got my limit in 15 minutes.

Overall a great trip and a great day to be at sea!!

Cappo- The boat caught 100 sculpion in 30 minutes! They caught 150 the day before and most of these were well above keeper length!! Is there such a thing as WFO sculpion?

PE- The San Diego is docked right across from the Orion. Nobody on the Orion but she sure looked prety sitting there all by herself and I was imagining what she was gonna look like with us on it for 2 1/2 days in August!!

BB- YT are outside on the kelp paddies right now. The homeguards at the Coronados are biting small krill and bait and not biting the iron/sardine/anchovy yet.
