Eddie and I were finally able to coax the 2nd half of the “HESBORS” Rich into a ride aboard the Spotted Fever for a day in NPH.

Pick them up a 0400 and encountered some heavy drizzle in route to the launch. Boat was in the water by 0500.

As I was returning onto the launch dock from parking the truck, Rich made a cast and was onto a nice Spottie! Not bad, 1 cast and 1 Spottie, Going to be a good day!!!!!!!!!

Well the motor decided to be feisty and not start after performing just fine the night before. While I trouble shot the problem Eddie and Rich continued to work the dock. After trying everything that I could do, I was ready to just load her back on the trailer and attempt to find a location to shore fish with the boat in tow!

Sorry to cut this weeks report from NPH short with 1 fish and no pic!!!!!!!!

NOT to be!!!!!!
Rich finally came over and touched with his magic hand on the motor in an attempt to help and Bingo she started!!! What the Hell?

As I was putting her back together Eddie got into action with a nicer but short Flattie around 19”. No photos of those fish as I was busy trying to get out onto the water as planned.

So down the channel we went to my first intended spot while bypassing some of my go to spots. Conditions were stained and outgoing current at that spot but it did not take long to produce! Since my 2 guests were already on the board with nice fish I decided to get the Skunk of quickly with this nicer grade unmeasured Flattie!
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3837.jpg

Then Eddie picked a few spotties.

http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3841.jpg
I then made a cast that went from bad to good!!!! I made a cast to my intended location only to have the line settle on a clump of kelp/ell grass/trash/ crap and also got a pretty good bird nest on the bait caster. After clearing the nest and starting to spool it in I go bendo for this nice spottie!
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3842-1.jpg
We made a move to a new location and Eddie says this place does not look fishy!!!
Oh well to bad as I am your driver and if you do not like it, I can put you on shore and I will continue on with Rich!!!

A few moments later he is onto this sub-standard Spottie.
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3845.jpg
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3844.jpg
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3846.jpg
And another wee smaller!
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3847.jpg
I then tell them that it is lines up after the short haul in that spot and move to another close spot that I have not worked before much to Eddie's dislike as he wants the boat to head to his place of comfort but I knew it was not time to be there yet!

Eddie goes for a quick bendo on what we think was a Juvie WSB from the view we got before he lived up to his old ways of MR. FARMER!!!!!

He then quickly follows with this!
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3848.jpg
And 1 for me.
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3849.jpg
We make our way around a Tuber in the tight spot and converse for a few moments then Eddie goes
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3850.jpg
Rich with the assist!
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3851.jpg
This 1 went 19 ½”
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3852.jpg
I decide to make a move to an always productive ground to attempt to get Rich on his first NPH boat fish.
Of course the Bro! took another 1 from him!
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3853.jpg
Moments later Rich was finally on the board on the boat with a very hungry Diamond Turbot that are the 5’ gulp!
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3854.jpg
and his first NPH pancake.
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3855.jpg
We then worked the trench for nothing until I docked the boat to use the restroom and I jump onto the dock and tie up and there was Eddie BENDO with what turned out to be Exactly 22” on 3 different tapes. To close and sorry Eddie but no Tacos!!!!!!!
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3857.jpg
More moves produced these!
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3858.jpg
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3859.jpg
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3861.jpg
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3862-1.jpg
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3863.jpg
We managed many more short Spotties that were not photo worthy as well as a few very small Sandies and some very much pancake Flatties!

At daylights end we had over 20 Spotties, 10 Flatties, 3 Sandies, a Turbot and alot of I don't knows as we were all very poor on the Bite to Hook up ratio!!!!

Of course Eddie kept his Honor as the :Farmer:

Until next time tight lines!

Thanks for a fun day on the water HESBROS!!!!!!!!!

Nice mixed bag of fish, and some good quality ones too!

Steve, you are a great harbor guide. I don't think I have ever seen a skunk report from your NPH trips. Just a few more weeks, and I can finally try NPH too. Just hope she produces well for me.

hesbros, I feel your pain. For the longest time last year, I could only stick halibut that measured 22in initially and then would shrink right before my eyes. It's frustrating to see your halibut dinner go away as you watch. Then you'll catch the legal when you have no intent of keeping it, and release the fish that a few weeks before you would definitely have kept... or maybe that's just me.

Eddie, for a farmer :Farmer: you sure do land a lot of fish! Nice job as always with the spotties and congrats on the legal hali.

Steve, you seem to always know where the fish are at. You took Eddie out of his comfort zone and he still produced a good number of fish. WTG on manning the ship.

Rich, congrats on your first spottie aboard the Spotted Fever. I hope those guys gave you first dibs on all the hotspots. Steve and Eddie owe you big time for your midas touch.

Awesome report from the Spotted Fever as always. Those hali pics are giving me a lot of motivation for this weekend. Can't wait to get out there!

Steve, I publicly accuse you of favoritism... you love Eddie more than me! And I bet that Eddie got that legal standing on my spot of the boat too. :Envious:

Awesome day in the harbor gentlemen, glad that you got the "Spotted Fever" to cooperate... she is a tempermental one.

Steve, maybe sometimes in the near future, when the stars are perfectly aligned... I will get you on a legal in the surf & you will put me on one in the harbor.

Another Fantastic Voyage aboard the Spotted Fever!

Steve you are indeed the Harbor Master! It's your boat and Eddie needs to just follow the program!

Eddie, Way to score like 10 fish before you let your brother get some! Are you the oldest? That is typical older brother stuff! You probably never even let him get near "Wingnut Corner" on the boat!

Rich! Glad you went along for the ride, got the boat going, and caught some fish!

Looks like a Killer Day aboard the Spoted Fever!

Peace! Santa Fe!

I guess you guys didn't want to be outfished so you left Brad, Aaron?, and Bass Widow at home:ROFL:

Victor,

Thanks,

It is hard to get those two to smile while there are in battle with each other!

As for me it is hidden by the stash!

Nice job Brother!!! I'll be back out Sunday to get back in the mix with you. Hopefully we'll see ya out there!!

Mav,

Good luck out there on the next outing!

You will have to get out on the weekdays to get in the mix with us for the summer as we now only have the weekdays off for the summer. It is so much nicer than being out in the crowds of the weekend! We have the place to ourselves!!!!!

Very well done! You fellas tore that place a new one:Beer Toast:

Nice Halibut and high five on the Turbot!

We mostly use 3 " Big Hammer or Fish Traps when throwing the swimbaits. Drop shotting we tend to use the 5" Gulp, Zoom Flukes, or Power baits!

Thanks to WINGNUT and his Gifts we have a bag of 50 various baits that makes it very confusing except for him and he could catch a fish using a Seal Dropping!!!!!:Secret:

I did get a nice Spottie on the Pink Gulp!

Mark,

I have been skunked in the harbor before but has been awhile. Fortunately the talent I invite along for the Harbor Tour can also fish!

Eddies first estimate was a 26" in the water magnifying glass but it shrunk rapidly in the net!

Steve, I publicly accuse you of favoritism... you love Eddie more than me! And I bet that Eddie got that legal standing on my spot of the boat too. :Envious:

Arthur,

Somehow we will get it right together instead of in our separate ways!

Eddie was in fact sitting on your seat picking up the fish that we in the front failed to pickup as we passed along!

Sometimes it pays to be at the back of the line and get the chance to go to battle with the fellows who have been teased with a good looking meal and then comes along a plate loaded with STEAK and LOBSTER!!!!
:Envious:
We will get out soon! I think I figured out how to put you on some weekday fishing with little disruption to your daily activities!

Dana,

If I remember right they have outside seating where you can catch you own for the grill!

We will not make the LEGENDS due to our schedules.:Angry:

I hosted 2 Legends aboard weeks ago and look forward to a 3some of Legends for a tour of the harbor in the future!:Big Smile:

Hang in there!!

Eric,

You would think Eddie was the older one by the way he was picking on Rich but he is actually the Runt of the Family!:Spank:

Rich will out score him in the future as he spends more time in those waters!

It is always a great day on board the Spotted Fever as the only work is to get my pets to cooperate and enjoy the Peace, Tranquility, and Scenery of the harbor!:Big Smile:

Nice to see some nicer butts come out of there thanks for the pics and report you guys killed um.

Lucas,

We did find some nicer models but in very different locations than the norm and definitely a good sign!

Nice job guys!! Looks like more and more and bigger flatties are showing up in NPH.

John,

School will be in recession for the Summer soon and it will be time to spend some quality time with the Lil Guy!
