Eddie and I were finally able to coax the 2nd half of the “HESBORS” Rich into a ride aboard the Spotted Fever for a day in NPH.
Pick them up a 0400 and encountered some heavy drizzle in route to the launch. Boat was in the water by 0500.
As I was returning onto the launch dock from parking the truck, Rich made a cast and was onto a nice Spottie! Not bad, 1 cast and 1 Spottie, Going to be a good day!!!!!!!!!
Well the motor decided to be feisty and not start after performing just fine the night before. While I trouble shot the problem Eddie and Rich continued to work the dock. After trying everything that I could do, I was ready to just load her back on the trailer and attempt to find a location to shore fish with the boat in tow!
Sorry to cut this weeks report from NPH short with 1 fish and no pic!!!!!!!!
NOT to be!!!!!!
Rich finally came over and touched with his magic hand on the motor in an attempt to help and Bingo she started!!! What the Hell?
As I was putting her back together Eddie got into action with a nicer but short Flattie around 19”. No photos of those fish as I was busy trying to get out onto the water as planned.
So down the channel we went to my first intended spot while bypassing some of my go to spots. Conditions were stained and outgoing current at that spot but it did not take long to produce! Since my 2 guests were already on the board with nice fish I decided to get the Skunk of quickly with this nicer grade unmeasured Flattie!

Then Eddie picked a few spotties.

I then made a cast that went from bad to good!!!! I made a cast to my intended location only to have the line settle on a clump of kelp/ell grass/trash/ crap and also got a pretty good bird nest on the bait caster. After clearing the nest and starting to spool it in I go bendo for this nice spottie!

We made a move to a new location and Eddie says this place does not look fishy!!!
Oh well to bad as I am your driver and if you do not like it, I can put you on shore and I will continue on with Rich!!!
A few moments later he is onto this sub-standard Spottie.

And another wee smaller!
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3847.jpg
I then tell them that it is lines up after the short haul in that spot and move to another close spot that I have not worked before much to Eddie's dislike as he wants the boat to head to his place of comfort but I knew it was not time to be there yet!
Eddie goes for a quick bendo on what we think was a Juvie WSB from the view we got before he lived up to his old ways of MR. FARMER!!!!!
He then quickly follows with this!

And 1 for me.
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3849.jpg
We make our way around a Tuber in the tight spot and converse for a few moments then Eddie goes

Rich with the assist!

This 1 went 19 ½”
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3852.jpg
I decide to make a move to an always productive ground to attempt to get Rich on his first NPH boat fish.
Of course the Bro! took another 1 from him!
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3853.jpg
Moments later Rich was finally on the board on the boat with a very hungry Diamond Turbot that are the 5’ gulp!
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3854.jpg
and his first NPH pancake.
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3855.jpg
We then worked the trench for nothing until I docked the boat to use the restroom and I jump onto the dock and tie up and there was Eddie BENDO with what turned out to be Exactly 22” on 3 different tapes. To close and sorry Eddie but no Tacos!!!!!!!
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3857.jpg
More moves produced these!

We managed many more short Spotties that were not photo worthy as well as a few very small Sandies and some very much pancake Flatties!
At daylights end we had over 20 Spotties, 10 Flatties, 3 Sandies, a Turbot and alot of I don't knows as we were all very poor on the Bite to Hook up ratio!!!!
Of course Eddie kept his Honor as the :Farmer:
Until next time tight lines!
Thanks for a fun day on the water HESBROS!!!!!!!!!
