Had a blast @ Lake Perris Today (5/31/09)

My brother and I arrived at the lake around 6:30 this morning. It turned out to be a very slow day. We saw a female dear (Doe) looking at us from the Island. Anyway, I caught 2 LMB and 1 bluegill but my brother caught a bunch of bluegills early in the morning. After that, there was nothing, not even a nibble. We’ve changed spot almost 20 times. We were able to pick up a few big one here and there. Around 1:30 PM I caught a Turtle on a cricket and 2lb test line by accident. I cleaned it up and released it back in the water. After that, my brother and I managed to pick up a few more bluegills and call it a day around 4 PM. Both LMB were released and we only kept a decent size of bluegills. Although, it was a slow day however we had a blast out there. All were caught on Crickets and 2lb test line. Good luck and Have fun to all of you out there!

Been fishing Perris my whole life 30+ years. I have not seen a turtle, or deer on the island ever, that is sweet!!!!! thanks for sharing.

I've been lucky at that lake so far. I've been BLESS! :LOL: If you wanna see that dear, you have to get there as early as you can. That day I saw the two little one too. By the time I pulled out my camera they took off in the bush real fast. I guess they kinda shy to the camera. :LOL: Hopefully, I have a snap shot on both of them on my next fishing adventure. So, wish me luck! :Wink:
