I was wondering if anyone knows what the action has been like recently on the pier? Anything other than Macs or Bonita? I'm thinking about taking out my son for the first time this week.

Was out there helping with the fishing day they do for the blind, learning disabled, and handicapped children on the sportifishing pier. Macs are pretty wide open throughout the day, calicos are good when the tide is right, and saw some amazing boils off in the distance as well as a school of bones cruise right in. Buy some squid right there and you're golden~

Looks like a sweet place to fish! Is this a private harbor? I mean is there a public boat ramp so I can launch my own boat or do I have to rent a skiff or go on a charter to catch fish out of there.

Thanks for the reports and info everyone. I've been getting my poles and reels all ready. I'll probably sneak out with my 4 year old son early in the week.

You can fish on the pier or even bring out your boat and fish inside the breakwater. You might even be able to rent a little boat to fish inside the harbor. Maybe someone can post that info??? If not, I will check it out when I'm there this week and make a post.
