Saturday 5-30-09 (caveat emptor: long write-up for a skunk...)

With high expectations and dreams of 10lb stripers, I took off from San Diego around 4 a.m. for Los Angeles to meet up Trolly to fish the infamous Castaic.

We touched water around 7:30 a.m., and soon enough were greeted by T.O. and his clients of the day (Yama & LadyFish).

In short, we trolled, trolled, trolled, had some sodas and food, and trolled, and then when we got bored we trolled some more. No love. We tried it all, but we never got lucky.

Castaic's pimp hand runneth strong.

Around 3 p.m., we just decided to beach the boat and take a rest. We must have looked like marooned scaliwags...T/O & crew did a drive-by and tried to sell us some food! lol While Trolly took a powernap on the beach, I tried my best on shore casting my little toy lures, while Lady Castaic gave me the finger.... She's a toughie and apparently doesn't give it up on the first date. I respect that.

Shortly thereafter, we regrouped, and deluded ourselves into thinking we would "0wnz the night". We would redeem ourselves and do the Moonlight Fishing dealio.

Did the whole "waiting in line" thing, and finally hit the water around 8 p.m. after donating a kidney and stool samples (Castaic management needs to streamline this process, really). We made a beeline for the buoy line where we were met by 1/2 of FNN. LOL

In short, despite Trolly's premium cat & striper bait (fresh macks & chovies), Lady Castaic still stubbornly refused to open her legs for us.

After listening to GeordyBass's comedy stand-up routine, we did the smart thing and bailed before the rest of the crowd. We docked the boat up in the dark, and drove back to LA. (Castaic needs ramp courtesy lights at night...safety issue IMO). Got home to San Diego 4:30 a.m., 24 hours later. LOL

All in all, still was a great trip for me. First time to Castaic. Beautiful lake, (crazy boaters though) and tons of hidden little places to fish on the lake.

Thanks Trolly for the grand tour of Castaic. I had a blast, laughed my butt off, fished somewhere new....I can't complain. Thanks T/O for the help and stuff!

sorry for the skunk you guys should off stayed for night fishing,sansou i take my skunks with pride...and not for lack of effort..24hr trip.hardcore

Nice report Rich. Too bad about the Skunk. That Sucks. Trollmiester is the Best . You just got to love the guy. Makes you laugh till it hurts. You will get them ( Linesides ) next time.

We moved on to my dink spot to redeem ourselves and we got about 3 stripeys each the last 20 minutes,,,

LOL Rich, I know exactly what you guys did wrong.......you should have taken more naps. When you wake up it's like a brand new day.:Smile: I also didn't see a single pillow on that boat for good sleeping.
All I was hoping for Sat night was to call you two and it would be wide open on the stripers. Oh well at least I got to turn in by nine.:LOL:

Thanks for the report Rich sucks about the slow day but atleast you fished with Trolly and i am sure there were many good laughs that made the day.

Whaaaa...? Skunk?!? I know what happened Rich, Trolly didn't bring enough Gummy Bears to offer to the Fish Gods of Castaic. You guys shoulda trolled behind Bob all day. :LOL: That's a long day fo fishing, excellent report & pics. :Cool:

Hey we did have fun.I forgot my fishfinder so i could not get close to shore like i wanted. At one oclock i noticed that my fishing liscense had flow from my neck and it was gone. Went to 711 and bought one.SOO much fun at the bouy line with other fnnners.Thanx rich for all you did,very generous.Good seeing hiro and feel the steele agian.We will get them next time.I just had breakfast and tasted that bang again.
