The plan was for myself, Alfred (dad), Greg, Russ, Brian, Jon, John, Chris and Natalie to spend the weekend up at Four Jeffery campground and do some trout killin. Russ, Brian and I drove up to Crowley and got there at 5:30 and waited for the gates to open at 6. While we were very bored, we took some random shots of the area.

On Friday, got on the water at about 6:45, and the fishing sucked hardcore. We stayed till about 10:30 for only one perch from me and Russ.

After that we drove up to Convict to see what was going on there. Got on the water and started getting picked up from some fish, Brian and Russ got a couple but then the lake got really windy and started to blow us off so we hit the creek for a while and was able to manage a very steady bite. We then drove down to Bishop and up to Four Jeffery to set up camp where we had Shrimp pasta for dinner.

On Saturday we hit up Weir pond early however we were only able to pick up a few fish. Went back to camp for breakfast then hit up North lake to see what was going on but nothing was happening so we fished a creek nearby where we were able to manage a few fish each. After that Jon and Chris split off to do something, I think they said they went back to Weir and had some wide open fishing. As for me, Russ and Brian, we hit up some creeks and then Intake II where everything around the shore was slow. A few float tubers were able to manage catching some fish but that's about it. For some reason I was on fire and at one point was getting hit on every single cast more than once. I pulled in about 25 fish in about an hour using a white trout magnet and Lip Ripperz. Brian and Russ also picked up quite a few.

That night for dinner we had tri-tip steak, potatoes and salad.

On Sunday we just hit up a bunch of creeks and didn't have too much luck but like always managed to outfish everyone else on the mountain. We found one spot on the creek where we got a bunch of decent sized browns and a few rainbows. After that, Jon and Chris split up again and fished the creek below Sabrina for a pretty steady bite while me, Russ, Brian and John headed over to South Lake. We found a decent bite right next to the dam and discovered that orange power worms drifted in the wind worked well. That night we had bbq chicken and pasta salad.

On Monday everyone headed straight home but my dad, greg and I had some time to kill so we hit up a couple spots. First hit up a part of the Owens which sucked then hit up one of the sand traps. I was able to pick up a few hold-overs and a nice brown but then some people came and decided to spook the fish. After we hit up one of my secret spots (yes Russ I actually found this spot myself) and found some great fishing for wild browns and rainbows. Then called it a day after about 30 min, headed to Bass Pro Shops and bought a new rod (actually I made Greg buy it for me since he broke one of my other rods).

Overall we all had a great trip. There were TONS of pressure being put on the fish everywhere we went, so the trick was to fish very small stuff and present everything very slow. For me the hot baits were Lip Ripperz, trout magnets, and my custom tied flies. Great weather the whole trip, no assholes to deal with (just a lot of people), all in good fun. Thanks to everyone who came, I had a great time and thanks to my dad for cooking awesome food, as well as Greg for helping out. I personally ended the trip with about 65 fish, nothing big in size other than a 14" brown. I think everyone else caught about the same give or take.

Jon and Russ have a bunch of pictures still to upload.

Cliffs:

-Lots of pressure on fish
-Still caught fish cause that's what we do
-Good Weather
-Good Food
-Had Fun
-Caught about 65 fish

Good job on dealing with the pressured fish, and on a great trip with the friends and family. Those pictures of the native browns are nice too, as are the scenery shots. Congrats!

I just checked out your hand tied flies, and I'll order some before my Sierra trip. They look killer.
