fished lake mead 2 days in a row last week with redknight. first day i fished redknight was unable to make it out so i ventured out on my own with my girlfriend. we found a nice point and tossed out our chovies. only a few minutes into the soak we started to get bit. we got literally a million bites!! thrown in for good measure were a few thousand break your rod in half bites. but in the end NOTHING wanted to stick, it was so frustrating. but we figured bites are better than no bites. ended day 1 with a bug skunk. called it a day around 10pm and it was dark as hell getting out of there but we made it out okay.

2nd day redknight was able to make it out and fish with us. it was the same deal as the day before BUT this time we were able to get the fish to stick. :Envious: we had an amazing day out and landed at least 15+ stripers and cats. no real monsters but they all averaged about 1-2lbs. we also tried to get some lmb, i wasnt able to get anything to bit, but redknight was able to land 2. :High Five: all the fish were released to fight another day.

had an awesome time out there. definitely one of the best fishing trips i've ever had. mead is such a sweet lake and i cant wait to get back out there as soon as possible!!!!!!!:Dancing Banana:

lastly i gotta give it up for victor(redknight) for everything..literally. thanks man, michelle and i cant thank you enough for the amazing time we had out there.:UDaMan::UDaMan::UDaMan:
we gotta do it again soon and ill bring my tube with me. :Envious:

bait used was anchovies carolina rigged with 1/2oz sliding sinkers and long leaders (18"+)

Love Lake Mead also! Tubing it is great, if the wind isn't howling. You can get out to some of those little islands and have a blast with a little real estate all to yourself. It's also fun in the winter chasing the trout plants for the striper big boys, not always productive but when you get one it's well worth the effort.

Ernie, it was nice to hang once again, catching a few fish in good company is always nice. I'm glad you had fun out there and my promise of putting you on the fish came through. I enjoyed it just as much. We'll defenitely try tubing next round. Water temp should be a few degrees warmer. See you soon.

Haha in one of those night pics I thought your girlfriend fell down. Lake Mead has some good fishing in there but I hear there are bigger stripers to be caught out there.
