Frog don't go to many places on the long holiday weekends.
Yesterday took MIss frog to the doc to have her batterys checked on her pacemaker.
We got up bright and early and back to Cibola.
Fishing was great, anytime one can go fishing it's great,

On the way came upon a herd of about 20 Desert Mule-Tail does just south of Harvey's fishing hole,
three Buros right after. We have small herd of wild Horses it the A-7 area ole frog hasn't seen them for awhile.

The othe sights I seen makes one want to puke.
Along the river five or six areas ,piles of trash left by the weekenders.
The desert will be closed to free camping one of these days and these jurks will wonder why.
When a fee is added to camp , it will cost the fisherman too.
I am sick and tired of picking this stuff up.
What raises my hair is La Paz County Arizona has free dump for this kind of trash.
We have no trash pickup fee ,you go and dump it off at a pick up point.
They haul it off.

Enough of the rant , the fishing
5 Crappie,I Bass, 15 Bluegill,Red-eared mix

Catfish 1 ole frog 0
On this one ole frog had a 9 or 10 pound Flathead in the boat .
Remember, this is an 8 foot boat,my cooler (fish box) sets behind the seat all the way aft.
Trying to turn around and put this fish in the box ,one big flip and he scored.
( that is C&R frog )

One other fish pulled one rod overboard when I was fooling with the mini one.
No rod holders on this 8 foot boat.
I have no idea what kind of fish,it trashed around in the tulies for awhile.
I had a stump for a marker on shore, so I started to drag for my pole.
I thought I might snag the line,I'll be darned if I didn't snag the pole.
The fish had broken the line so I got it pole and reel back.
This it took about 30 minutes ole frog went home befor the heat set in.

That really sucks about the trashing of your fishing spot. I have had to deal with the same before . Also sucks about your accidental C&R...haha. Still seems like you were able to get some good fishing time in though!

That kind of crap right there gets my blood boiling. Some people have no respect whatsoever. It's really sad that there wasn't one person in that bunch that would clean up.

Sad!

Jeff skeeters were not all that bad ,just use a lot of deet.
They still have some big catfish in this area.
The crappie ? not a lot but one can scratch a few, some nice bass, I have caught Stripers at the out let on the river side.
Some big cats are caught here too.
The striper I can see ,but not many they like the moving river water.
Some spawn in the river ,in the rapids just above Harvey's Fishing Hole
Have a good trip if ya go.

Thanks for the report Ole Frog. That really sucks that people just leave all that trash behind. I see it all the time at Irvine Lake.( where I work at.) Glad you got your rod & reel back.

Ole Frog,
I live in the other desert (high desert) and the riff-raff that come up from Bakersfield strew their trash (diapers) all along thr upper Kern River and also
all around Lake Isabella. Enough to make a person PUKE! :Dead Horse::Dead Horse:

The diaper part made me think of how close I came to smacking a lady.
This young lady threw diapers in the river at Mayflower Park.
I said lady people down in Yuma drink this water.
You have a trash can right there .
She said oh ! but it stinks .
It was very hard to control my-self.

I have fished the upper Kern many a time ,I see times have not changed.
It will be solved some day but I am afraid the fishing will go with it.
