Got Triple Limit from Lake Perris 5/25/09

I arrived at the lake around 6:15 in the morning hoping for some bluegills action. I love to come here as early as I can because it’s very peaceful. Anyway, I got to my favorite spot and fish there for about 30 minutes with no action so I decided to move to a different spot and it was WFO. I got hit on every cast and caught me a lot of huge bluegills and redears. It was nonstop action until a few boats past by then the school moved out and I had to go search for them again. I caught an 18” LMB on a cricket by accident. This was the biggest one I ever caught so far. I still got hit a few here and there until noon then it shut down. I went for lunch and took a nap for about an hour and start searching for them again. I managed to land a few here and there for about an hour and a half then decided to call it a day. I kept a few bluegills for dinner tonight and the LMB was released to see his homies.

You know what though? How sad is that first picture? How pathetic that here in California every pic on the lake shows 5 bass boats in the background all within 50 yds of each other. How sad has Perris become. Its amazing there is any bite at all anymore.

You got that right bro! I had a blast out there that day. Tons of them still hang out there. It's fun fishin for them gills. They fight harder than crappies and you know that. I might be there this coming Wednesday. Call me if you go. Have a nice day bro! :Big Grin:

This was Memorial Day Holiday- iirc, Perris is a zoo on any Holiday, even going back twenty years.........
