All fish were caught and released.

Also, remember, the 395 is being worked on, so driving can be slow. Saw lots of troopers handing out tickets.

Weather was great, a couple of cloudbursts in the mountains, even some sleet, but not bad. Temps hit the mid 80s in the lower elevations, and the upper teens one night.

Thursday Night: Left after work and slept in the car near Lone Pine.

Friday:
Set up a campsite at Rock Creek.
Fished a small stream up in the mountains, using salmon eggs, trying to get a golden (haven't caught one in 2 years now) and caught 14 small brookies.

Saturday:
Fished the Upper Owen's (barbless) and did not get a hit.

Sunday:
Tried a small stream, Deadman's creek, caught 1 rainbow, and 3 brookies. (Silver blade, Panther Martin)

Went to the lower Owen's, past the monument, all the way to Crowley, using the same silver blade PM. Fished for 2.5 hours and caught 29 browns, and 2 rainbows. This sounds impressive, and it was fun, but none of the browns were over 6 inches, and most were much, much smaller. The rainbows were small, stocked fish, less than a pound each. Usually, the Owen's is very good to me, but I typically catch all rainbows and just a couple of medium sized browns, and not these tiny ones.

Memorial Day:
Hit the Owen's from 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM, before returning home, this time closer to Benton Bridge. Caught and released two stocked rainbows and one small brown, but bigger than most of the browns from yesterday. Used the same silver blade PM.

Returned home, after a fantastic weekend.
